Appreciate your two cents
how have i not heard of this channel before? this is exactly the type of content im looking for.
Amazing! Glad you found it and thanks for being here 🤘
holy shit bro
indeed
hi, where i can find vj loops and how i can sync with the music but only for videos on youtube..
seanbowes.com/vj-content-guide or www.jasonfletcher.info/vjloops/vj-content-creators.html has lots of links to vj loops. If you just are making a video for youtube, you can use any video editor to edit them to the music. premiere, final cut, resolve, iMovie, whatever
I already have the issue that I have to get it right first, I have to connect MA2 with ShowKontrol. Which option do you recommend here OSC, Art-Net, MIDI, ...???
Dang the step encoders is a pretty big letdown...
goated vid
🐐
Great video! Can you make a tutorial how you do it with Ableton Link and Chamsys with Showkontorl? In church we use Ableton and a Chamsys MagicQ50 console and we want to run the speed of the fx at point with the BPM from Ableton. If you can do this, this would be very nice. And maybee also with the Lasersystem Showeditor from Laserworld
Nice one Sean! Definitely some cool tech.
Are you aware that you speak with a vocal fry?
Are you aware that you type with a vocal fry too?
@@SeanBowes So you concur?
All I know is I love fries 🍟
@@SeanBowes I just worry about you bro.
Thank you for your concern. I think I’m gonna make it 🙏 Dr says it’s only 50% fatal
Hi Sean, I sent you a couple of messages but haven’t heard back from you. I am planning to put together a EPK using virtual concert program. Are you interested? Please let me know. Btw can you please advise me what is the best free program i can use to enhance a video resolution. hope hearing from you and thank for your support.
Is there any opensource plugin similar to this?
Not that I am aware of. But maybe?
I’m still using a generation 1 of these controllers. I love them and forgive the short falls as they are primarily designed as music studio controllers. Super flexible and much cheaper /smaller than any other modular controllers. My biggest is losing connection when Not perfectly flat, however I think the newer designed housing is supposed to be better (rounded edges etc help) The software is awesome and opens up so much more possibility over any other controller I’ve tried. I’ve created conditionals to create game control combo style paring. I made a video a few years back where I created the option to have push and turn on the endless encoders” ua-cam.com/video/rcIdh61kVAA/v-deo.htmlsi=nJvAcVbIVqm8OXkC
MITH the legend in the house! Thanks for weighing in! Glad to hear they are still holding up well for you. And yeah I think that if you are aware of their quirks and the scenarios they were initially designed for they can definitely be really fun and super useful for us as well. Your video about setting up combos was really interesting! I need to dig into editor more and try using more of that type of functionality, but I am glad you are out there doing it and sharing with us.

thinking about dropping the cash on 4 modules to build a portable Traktor Pro setup. Looks clean, sleek. 2 PB4, 1 pot16 and 1 tek2...yesh
Sounds like a nice setup!
Can you turn them upside down? Rotate the panels 180 degrees?
Yes 90, 180, 270
I would wonder with a rowdy FOH would they fall apart mid show?
Like you just explained in the video... After I hit send... Lol fml
They're pretty sturdy. If you crank two faders hard in opposite directions you can definitely pop em apart, but if you are mindful of what you are mapping dont VJ like an animal they are fine 😂 . Played several gigs with them without any issues like that. The video demo was an exaggerated scenario just to show its possible.
I bought a set last year and while I liked them, I did have issues with them randomly losing connection occasionally and ended up losing confidence in using them in the outdoor environments I usually perform in. I ended up selling mine and buying a midi fighter twister to go along with my 3D and I love that setup.
For sure! I play in a lot of dusty outdoor venues too so this is my concern. But so far they are pretty fun. Going to try to keep them clean and see how they hold up over time
@@SeanBoweshello,do u know about strip led tube effects in resolume?

Migrating from Octane to Redshift. This solved one of my many questions.
Happy to help! What is prompting the switch to Team Redshift? Just curious! If there are other outstanding quesitions you have, let me know and I'll see if I can help out in the comments or in future videos
Redshift comes with c4d, so why not learn it too? It seems to be better integrated to the standard workflow. No questions at the moment, but I'm sure there will be.

Hello Bro. thanks for this video. im sure this is gonna sent out from hdmi to switcher or processor right? id like to know hoe do you do led wall mapping on tje hardware side like on novastar please. thanks for your response.
Yes that is correct, this is the step that happens in the media server (resolume) to prepare output for what the processor is looking for. I have had a video about programming in novastar for a while, but that isnt the part of the process I am usually involved with so it has been difficult to coordinate all of the things I need to make a proper video. I have got this question a few times though so I will work on making it happen! Thanks for the suggestion!
Hi Sean, Thanks for great content. Regards, Teboho From South Africa
Thanks for watching, Teboho! Glad you enjoyed this video!
Hey, I have a little problem. When I go to output and advanced, I don't have the output transformation option, maybe you know what's the problem
Sounds like you have the Avenue version of resolume, not Arena which is capable of advanced output mapping
Hi i was wondering if there's any option to make those slices "turn off" in a different time and then again turn on kinda flashed out of sync at a time determined by me
You could possibly midi map the Bypass (B) toggle on each slice in the slice transform effect or you could use a plugin like chaser to achieve an effect like that. There are other slice 'chase' plugins and techniques as well. Take a look and let me know if that solves your problem, or if there is more clarification you can provide about what you are trying to achieve to help me point you in the right direction
Does the switch have to be unmanaged? Or will a managed switch work if everything is given correct network settings?
i expected the ma but thought for sure it would be d3 not reso. but i guess it makes sense considering the background he spoke about briefly
The APC40 MkII is now rarer than the pope's shit. :(
I'm sure he poops just as much as the rest of us. But yes, I know what you mean lol its a bummer!
bery good
Thanks!

Nice breakdown, but for the Live Visuals part I for one miss Modul8 (Garagecube, also made Madmapper for those unfamiliar) from the list. Have been using it since 2009 and love how you can tweak and use sound-inputs for instant effects. Have had nights, not too many thankfully, where things have gone Pete Tong with existing footage and I´ve ended up doing a whole night with a simple logo png which I´ve used to make sound-reactive, abstract shapes and patterns. Also has a bunch of free modules which you can import from their Garagecubes library. And, if people are reluctant to use it live you can always make loops with it which you can export for use later or in other programs. For ease of use, and longevity for that matter, I can not praise it enough! Curious to hear what other people think of it though, seeing that I rarely hear people talking about it. All the best!
Great suggestion! Thank you for sharing your experience with us. I havent used Modul8 much myself but I've seen it in use and it is very cool
My favourite DJ and visual/lighting designers! I've seen these recordings of HOLO thousands of times looking for inspiration for my own VJ work. Thanks for the video!

Am I watching a video about how to upgrade my laptop or desktop I'm not really sure it looks like you have RAM sticks in the side of a desktop computer but you're talking about laptops, did AI make this is this a GPT 3.5 production
I am a human. I can click the checkbox. I can identify all of the busses in an image. I consume food with my mouth hole and definitely do not run off electricity, Richard. What more can I say, fellow human? I am flesh and bone. I am a weak little meat puppet that stands no chance in the uprising. Pardon me, Richard. I got a little carried away there. I assure you, everything is ok!
Am I reading a sentence or am I reading a run on sentence I'm not sure it looks like there are several ideas but there is no punctuation they are all strung together as though you never even took a breath you just keep spilling thought after thought after thought, did an AI write this is this a GPT3.5 sentence
Yeah just buy the most expensive thing that's a great way to handle your budget, blow your load on the first piece of hardware you need, perfect advice.
Thank you Richard. I glad you watched, understood, and enjoyed this video
Too bad in some shows the physical light of the diver on screen is out of position. In this video it is also to far above his head. When I saw it at Tomorrowland it was correct right on top of his head.
Yes I imagine this is a difficult production to execute at festivals. The variablility in rigs and space can really have a large effect on things like this.
Awesome interview. Thank you both for all you do
Thanks Christian! Glad you enjoyed this one

I've just tried it but there is no way to resync when Ableton Link is activated. If you have animations that starts on the first beat but the counter is on beat 3, you can't resync it. Or do i oversee something?
